Placental Enzymes

Placental Enzymes is an aqueous fraction from bovine placenta obtained by using a gentle extraction procedure. It is used as a tissue revitalizing additive in skincare and hair care products.

Placental Enzymes can assist tissue regenaration by increasing oxygen consumption of the cells. In cosmetic preparations it supports skin regeneration by increasing the metabolic rate, whereby the skin appears fresh and healthy.

Placental Enzymes are free from pathological germs and have a very low microbial contents which are often in the neighborhood of 0 and are thus lower than the WHO - limit of 100 germs per ml of extract.

The high content of the liable enzyme alkaline phosphatase of Placental Enzymes, besides other enzymes such as lactate-dehydrogenase and malate-dehydrogenase, is a proof of the careful manufacturing process. Apart from these three enzymes, Placental Enzymes also contains small quantities of glutamate-oxalacetate-transaminase and glutamate-pyruvate-transaminase.

The strong increase of the respiration of tissue homogenate after addition of Placental Enzymes proves its vitalizing action on the tissue, i.e. Placental Enzymes provides in vitro in the Warburg test indicating a highly increased tissue metabolism associated with a strongly enhanced oxygen consumption of the tissue.
